It has been emphasized that public language is tool to communicate with the public and thus should be easy and accurate. However, the reality is far from the ideal. Previous studies found that using difficult language in public caused not only communication difficulties, but also economic losses. this is also releveant to the Enforcement Decree of the Framework Act on the Korean Language, which stipulates how th evaluate Korean Language Officers' activities and language usage of public agencies. However, there still has yet to be established criteria or standards to objectively assess public agencies' use of korean language.
