“Korean language education in the era of AI: New technologies for
educational contexts outside Korea”

The Australian Association of Teachers of Korean (AUATK) invites individual, panel, and workshop presentation proposals from established scholars, early career researchers, postgraduate students, and Korean language education practitioners for the 4th AUATK Biennial International Conference and Annual Teacher Workshop, to be held on December 12-14, 2024 at the University of Melbourne.

This conference is supported by the 2024 Korean Studies Grant Program of the Academy of Korean Studies (AKS-2024-C-002), the Korean Education Centre in Australia, the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Melbourne, and the University of Melbourne Asia Institute.

The 2024 conference theme will be Korean language education in the era of AI: new technologies for educational contexts outside Korea. The organisers recognise the impact of AI on education and emphasise the need to take advantage of the potential of this new reality. The conference theme stresses that the integration of AI into language teaching has considerable benefits for future pedagogical practices. Through this conference, the organisers aim to address the challenge of integrating AI into Korean language education. Proposals dealing with other aspects of Korean language and culture education, Korean teacher education, and Korean language pedagogy or Korean language acquisition are also welcome.

The 2024 event will start with a welcome reception on December 12 and feature research presentations on Day 1 (December 13) and hands-on workshop-style presentations on Day 2 (December 14).
